A Gift We Can All Afford

If you know my husband Landon then you know he has just a few passions. Mainly of the outdoor variety. In the Fall/Winter, I become a hunting widow and in the Spring/Summer, it’s all about the bass fishing. He loves to be “one with nature” and feels truly at peace when he is outside on a river or up in a tree. His hobbies are a huge part of who he is.

If you know my husband really well, you know he does loves something more than he loves the outdoors. Landon really loves Jesus. He studies the word daily and reads books about Him nightly. It’s a dedication that is truly inspiring. Landon also prays every night for his loved ones. I don’t hear his exact words but I take comfort that every night, when my husband goes to bed, he is praying for me and for our family and friends.

My sweet husband is not the greatest gift giver. For a wife that loves surprises, this can sometimes be a sore subject. But his act of praying for me every night is truly a gift that can’t be wrapped up in a fancy package. He has been praying for me for 15 years to have a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I think he is finally seeing the fruits of his labor. The best part? I have started praying for Landon daily and we are seeing amazing things happen in our family. Prayer is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Plus it’s free! What’s better than that?

Dear Paige, Pray every day. It might take 15 seconds, 15 minutes or 15 years but eventually, you too,  will start to see the fruits of your labor.

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
